Popular Gadgets for Golfers to Improve Your Game

First and foremost, let us take this opportunity to say Happy New Year to all golf enthusiasts living in Southern California, and to everyone one elsewhere too. Let’s hope 2021 is a better year for the country and for everyone individually too. Our golf season here is not too far off, and like always we’re keen to promote our Palm Desert golf course in the Coachella Valley as one of the best places to get in a round of golf in Palm Desert.
So, with that said, one of the things that is true no matter what your recreational activity of-choice is that technology is having major effects on the things we love to do with our free time. If you like golf as much as we do – and we imagine that’s true – then you’ve probably noticed that there are all sorts of golf gadgets out there.
Ones that if you’re inclined to drop a few bucks on something it might either improve your handicap or more simply make the day on the golf course more enjoyable.
Some of them have been around for a while already, but others are quite new and so we thought we’d dedicate our first entry of 2021 to golf gadgets for improving your game. You may find that you feel compelled to get one for yourself, and that may be true if you’re planning to golf here in Palm Desert or anywhere else in the State that lets you golf year-round!
Here’s our list of popular golf gadgets:
- Garmin Approach S60
If you are healthily fixated on your golf game and being on top of it like never before then the Garmin Approach S40 is definitely what you want to have on your wrist instead of any timekeeping device. Now if you’ve ever wanted to expand your horizons beyond golf in the Coachella Valley and take your passions international then you’ll love that the S60 comes with 41,000 courses preloaded into it.
Add yardage to the hole, green, doglegs/layups, hazards, and more and it’s even more useful for golfers who want to know everything there is to know about what’s ahead.
That’s just the start of what this golf smartwatch can do. There’s also AutoShot game tracking that detects along the fairway and records distances for post-game analysis on Garmin Connect, and Green View that shows you the green’s true shape from wherever you are on the course. Add the fact you can sync it with your smartphone for emails, texts, etc. and this is really a top-notch golf gadget for anyone.
- Bushnell Pro XE Laser Rangefinder
Everyone’s working towards being able to go longer off the tee, but hopefully you’ve learned by now the answer to that usually isn’t buying a more expensive driver. Most of us are going to end up further back along the fairway than we’d choose to be, and that’s the beauty of what makes approach shots so important in golf. The Bushnell Pro XE Rangefinder is a superstar when it comes to letting you make the decisions about getting on the green in two.
For starters, it can be relied up on up to 1,300 yards in total, along with a new true ‘Play As’ distance that compares the line-of-sight distance and the actual physical distance with a percentage found between the two. You’ll get actual distance, slope adjusted, and the slope with elements adjusted. The pinseeker function with ‘Jolt’ gives you an easily recognized buzz when you’ve accurately locked onto the pin, and the fully waterproof design and tough armor casing add to this golf rangefinder’s appeal.
We’ve seen a few of these up close here at our Palm Desert golf course, and they really are a neat and useful golf gadget.
- Arccos Caddie Smart Sensor
This is one golf gadget that gets right in there to get to work. It’s a golf swing sensor analyzer that attaches to the end of your golf club handle and then makes real-time assessments on your swing that are relayed to the Arccos Caddie app on your smartphone. It gives you automatic shot tracking, references to how long you go with each club on average, an A.I.-powered rangefinder, and A.I. caddie advice on what club you should be pulling from your bag and how you should be using it.
Plus, all Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors come with a 1-year subscription to the service included, but after that the user must continue their subscription. If you’re all about better scores with your golf game and feeling a whole lot better about your round in the clubhouse, then we imagine that’s a subscription you’ll be happy to purchase.
- TaylorMade Spider Interactive
For some golfers once they reach the green it’s pretty much automatic, they’re going to put the ball in the cup relatively quickly. For others that aren’t so confident in their putting game it can be much more of an adventure. Nothing wrong with that, and most of us struggle with our putting from time to time and especially if it’s a challenging green. We have one hole in particular here at our Palm Desert golf course that fits that description, but no matter which green is giving you grief you might want to consider getting yourself the TaylorMade Spider Interactive Putter.
This thing is golf technology at its best if you ask us. A motion sensor is built into it, and automatically logs and shares information about different metrics, sends data into your smartphone for in-depth analysis of your strokes on the green and sends feedback on your tempo. Plus, it also comes with training tutorials and drills.
- Stewart Golf X10
It’s always admirable when someone chooses to walk the course and enjoy a little more in the way of burned calories to go along with an enjoyable afternoon on the links. If you’re of the same inclination but would rather not have to drag or carry your bag with you then the Stewart Golf X10 may be exactly what you need. This smart golf cart actually follows you around the course, and you can operate it with a remote control.
You can use 3 different modes; Follow, Remote, and Manual and it has automatic downhill braking and an integrated stabilizer. There’re too many cool functions to list for this automatic follow golf trolley, but here’s one stat you’ll want to take note of – 67% of customers saved an average of 3 shots per round after purchasing the X10 Follow.
After all, less effort put into pulling your trolley behind you means more effort and focus on swinging those clubs like you’re capable of!
