Palm Desert & Riverside Country Housing Stock Set to Grow, & New Condominium Development Coming to Palm Desert Country Club

The Palm Desert area of Riverside County and the Coachella Valley has been undergoing significant development in recent years. What is very agreeable about all this new development is the fact that most of it is being undertaken with a focus on respecting the distinctive rural vibe that appeals to residents choosing to live in Palm Desert. Needless to say, the appeal of Palm Desert Real Estate and the liveability of our community just as we like it really stands to benefit here.
Just last week, in the 3rd week of November, the city’s planning commission approved a new housing development that will be located adjacent to the well-known vineyards housing community and near to both the California State University at San Bernardino and the University of California at Riverside.
This decision is a very favorable one for the Universities, and Palm Desert Real Estate in general, as there has been a need for more off-campus student housing in Palm Desert as well as affordable housing for faculty members with young families. It’s the largest residential construction project in our area in over a decade, and the hope is that ground will be broken as soon as possible – early 2019 is the aim.
Residential interests are not the only ones being catered to with this approved new Palm Desert real estate development, as it will also include 17 acres of parks and five miles of looping walking trails – sure to be put to good use given the extent to which people living in Palm Desert love to get out for long strolls in our lovely weather here.
Several recreation spaces are in the works too, with pools, splash pads, and a fitness area that promises to be a benefit for residents of all ages.
Further, one of the priorities of the developers here was to create homes that are both for rental markets and available for new homebuyers as part of the Palm Desert real estate market. Around 1,000 new homes are expected, and it’s nice to see as they are very much needed here.
New Country Club Condos on Their Way
Here at Palm Desert Country Club we are getting in on the action ourselves! In May of this year Riverside City Council approved our proposal for a rezoning of 3 parcels of land aside our club and a tentative tract for us to build 69 condominiums.
The country club lifestyle continues to appeal to folks in California, and everyone who lives here will agree that we enjoy living in such a nice community with our neighbors. There’s room to accommodate more, and we’re happy to now soon be able to make golf course condominiums in Palm Desert a part of the ever-vibrant Palm Desert real estate market.
While we have yet to have a time frame for construction, what we can tell you is that we will be building 69 new condominiums here, and we have received preliminary approval for the wall design, heights, building composition and materials, plus landscaping and grading from the Architectural Review Commission here. To learn more and see some renditions and blueprints of what’s expected to be built here, we encourage you to visit this page.
You’ll see that we’ve been very judicious in our design choices to keep this new development stylistically in line with what already exists here for our golf course homes and Palm Desert real estate. This is important – as we’re sure nearly all of you will agree – because atmosphere is really a large contributor to the lifestyle here, and this development will also be undertaken in adherence to all of the working principles we’ve put in place with our recent landscape redevelopment efforts here at Palm Desert Country Club.
You can also see more about this ‘Desert-Scape’ project here and learn more about how it was a dual purpose undertaking aimed to improve the golf course as well as make our entire community more environmentally sustainable. We’re really impressed with the work done by Randy Purnel Landscape Architect. Our new condominium development will be taking a good bit of direction from what we’ve learned from him as we moved through the project.
Know as always that we do everything here at Palm Desert Country Club with the objective of giving our residents – and guests – the best country club lifestyle experience possible in our wonderful little part of the State here. If you have any interest in this new part of Palm Desert real estate, we’d be happy to put you in touch with one of the many excellent highest-integrity realtors here in Riverside County.
