Christmas Day Golfing at Palm Desert

Christmas morning is going to be fairly predictable for most families and households across the USA and Canada on the morning of the 25th. Lots of gift-opening and long breakfasts with everyone in the best of spirits, enjoying Christmas Day. But in most households, once the afternoon comes around, there’s usually a long stretch before turkey time when everyone is doing their own thing. Some people will want to play golf on Christmas Day. Why not celebrate the birth of baby Jesus and then go 250+ yards or more off the tee right afterward?

We can start here by saying that the good thing about golf here in Palm Desert is that you can play golf any day. It’s never going to be snowy and cold in Palm Desert like it is in many parts of the USA that aren’t in the more central part of Southern California. If you’re a local or around here for Christmas Day, you can book a tee time online. There may be some more puritanical types who’ll think it’s not appropriate, but we say to each their own. If you were one to believe in Santa at any time in your life, then you really should go right ahead and play golf on Christmas Day in Palm Desert.

Keep in mind that there are going to be plenty of golf enthusiasts who’ve received Christmas golf gifts earlier in the day and are keen to try them as soon as possible! There are always going to be golfers who know they’re getting golf gadgets for Christmas, and if that’s the case, you should definitely be getting an afternoon tee time at one of the USA golf courses open on Christmas Day. Ours is one of them, and while we’re not a big-name one that would make the list, we were voted the best public golf course in Coachella Valley.

Nice scenery and quieter surroundings have always been a part of why golf is enjoyable for people, and that is very true for this area and for Palm Desert golf too. The backdrop of the San Jacinto mountain range is a major contributor to the atmosphere we have here, but unlike most mountains in the USA, these ones won’t have snow-capped peaks like you’d find in the Rockies or elsewhere at this time of the year. You may be able to ski in California, but you’re certainly not doing it around this part of the state. Golf in Coachella Valley is a different story, though.

The reason we talk about this in relation to golfing on Christmas Day is because those mountains aren’t going anywhere, and our golf course is always a nice spot to be. But if you play Xmas golf here on the 25th, it’s going to be a breeze getting here and parking too, as there are going to be fewer golfers than there’d be on any other day. Plus, it will be quieter all around, and for a lot of people, having all that quiet and fewer golfers on the course is going to make Christmas Day that much better. But so are those Netflix Christmas Day NFL games!
