2024 Golf Season Set to Begin at Palm Desert Golf Course

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – after Labor Day in the USA, it’s back to school and the expectation of fall and cooler temperatures on the way. That is if you live elsewhere in the country and not in Palm Desert, CA. Sure, kids have gone back to school here, and the seasons do change the same way no matter where you are in the country. But fall here means cooler temperatures in an entirely different context. As in, much less hot and much more temperately perfect for rounds of golf.

That’s why most affordable golf courses in the USA have their seasons starting in the spring, whereas for golf in Palm Desert, it’s after the summer that things get into full swing, not before. Making a trip inland for golfing in Palm Desert is something coastal Californians will only do once the mercury has dropped, and now that we’re in the middle of September, it has done just that. Where it is now would be considered a very warm summer’s day elsewhere in more northern parts of the USA, but that’s not the case for a golf course in Palm Desert.

We’re known as one of the best public ones around these parts, and, of course, that means you don’t have to be a member to play a round here. Anyone and everyone can book a tee time online, and, as you’d expect, the onset of fall is seeing a lot more folks taking advantage of this convenience. You might want to hit the practice range and rediscover your swing quickly before stepping into the tee box on 1, or for some of you, swinging a golf club is akin to riding a bike.

Golf Again and Again

Either way, we’re very keen to see everyone who’s planning to play at Palm Desert Golf and Country Club this year. Expect more of the usual – long double-wide fairways framed by trees with mountain vista views in the background, and plenty of holes that are much more challenging than they look once you put the ball down those fairways. Plus, the way it seems to work is that once you hole out on 18 here, you can’t wait to do it again.

Competitive Camaraderie

Another enjoyable aspect of playing golf in Palm Desert – or anywhere for that matter – is the way you can enjoy time outdoors in a beautiful environment engaging in competition with your friends, family, and coworkers. In some instances, you may be golfing with all three of them. No matter who’s in your foursome, one of the great things about golf is that it is competitive, and you want to finish up the back 9 and go back into the clubhouse with the lowest round of the group.

Even if you’re not the lowest, there’s still a lot to feel good about if you come in under par. Not a lot of recreational golfers can do that with any consistency, and I’m definitely describing myself there. I have good rounds and I have decidedly not-so-good rounds. Shoot, I am often quite satisfied with 2 or 3 over, to be honest about it.

But one thing that is always good is the time spent after the game enjoying food and drinks with the guys or gals you’ve played with that day. There will be one of those clubhouses at any Coachella Valley golf course, and our Palm Desert Country Club Bar & Grill here at Palm Desert is a real gem, if you ask us. Cold drinks are a must after a round, and we’ve got drink specials here every day from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Plenty of good eats are on the menu too, and there are events and entertainment on many days/nights of the week too.

If you’re not in a hurry to get home, that’s all the better around here. Hey, if you’ve just had the best round you’ve had in a while, this exact scenario may be how it plays out. The mister or missus will definitely understand if you need to bask in the glow for a longer while.
